Sunday 28th August @ LARC, 62 Fieldgate St, Whitechapel, London (Nearest tubes: Whitechapel, Aldgate East)

A day of discussion, skill sharing and hands-on workshops with an emphasis on affinity group actions. The morning will focus on the basics of affinity group actions; the how, why what, where and when. Find out how to form a small gorup and work together to take effective action. The afternoon will be an opportunity to explore some more specific tactics and how they have been used against DSEi, the world's largest arms fair.

Information about DSEi 2005 will also be available to help you plan your action. Come and share skills with others: learn to hit them where it hurts!

Don't fear, DSEi is near!

PUBLIC MEETING
2pm Saturday 30th July 2005
Bertrand Russell Room, Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, London WC1
(nearest tube Holborn)

Defence Systems and Equipment International (DSEi), the world's largest arms fair, is taking place at the ExCeL Centre, London Docklands, from 13 - 16 September 2005.

DISARM DSEi is calling for a week of action and resistance against this evil trade, both at the exhibition and at relevant targets across the country. There are also plans for a convergence space and two day conference.

Remember DISARM DSEi 2003?
Arms fair preparations blockaded, trains and buses full of delegates stopped, DSEi security breached, arms companies' of?ces visited by day and night, blockades, street protests and many other actions, £4.5 million spent on policing.

This time, it's up to YOU!
There's loads to do - organising actions, publicity, fundraising, convergence spaces, mobilisation...the list is endless.

Come to the meeting and find out more.

Download the flyer advertising the meeting here.

There may be police photographers outside the meeting; you may wish to wear a scarf in this warm weather!!

Can't make it to London for DSEi in September? Take action against the arms trade and the oil industry in a match made in hell.

Offshore Europe 2005
6 - 9 September 2005
Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre, Scotland

Organised by Spearhead Exhibitions, organisers of DSEi (Defence Systems and Equipment International), the world's largest arms fair, Offshore Europe promises to be "one of the most influential and significant events in the petroleum industry".

In 2003 the exhibition was attended by 1400 exhibitors with visitors from 104 different countries including delegations from Azerbaijan and Venezuela. High profile visitors included the CEO from Shell EP Europe, Shell Nigeria, the Field Development Manager from BP and the Asset Managers from ChevronTexaco and ExxonMobil.

Environmental destruction from the oil industry and death from the arms trade are two major causes of misery and despair across the globe. Spearhead Exhibitions are dealing in both.
